Mediterranean to Transitional

"I worked with Danijela for over a year on the remodel of my family’s 4300 square foot Manhattan Beach home. What started out with just the kitchen and 5 bathrooms turned into a complete style change from Mediterranean to transitional. 

What I loved most about Danijela was my trust in her style and her attention to fair pricing. I am not the type of client that likes to tag along to look at tiles, stone or fabric, or anything, actually! We knew we wanted a beautiful home, but didn’t want to get into all the details to get it. I wanted a few choices and to know those were going to be the best options for our style and budget. We didn’t want cookie cutter looks but did want timeless finishes with a luxurious edge. Very quickly, she understood my family’s style and vision. I felt she was extremely efficient with both of our time in making decisions. For example, Danijela picked out our kitchen counter top stone while we were out of the country. I trusted her so much in her taste, I did not need to see it until the day of installation.  

It has been 2 years since our remodel and we love it as much as we did when it was first finished.

"We had a narrow master bathroom that was last remodeled in the 1980s. We hired Space Intervention to update the space.  Danijela designed a brand new layout for our bathroom to make it not only more beautiful, but also functional. This required  removing walls and opening an exterior door to gain the direct access to the pool area. She brightened it up with adding a skylight, new recessed lighting and beautiful white stone materials throughout. 

Our house is traditional but we wanted the bathroom to be modern.  She was able to create a beautiful transitional master bathroom that meld seamlessly into our bedroom.  Best of all, she had us involved in the process every step of the way without overwhelming us.  She had a keen understanding of our taste and lifestyle and helped guide us with giving us a few options in various price ranges while explaining the pros and cons of each choice.  We truly appreciate that she was designing a room for us and not what she thought it should be.  

We love “our” master bathroom.  We have recommended her to our friends and plan on using her for all our remodeling projects."

"Our project was completed on time and within budget. How many people can claim that about a home remodeling project? We credit Danijela with this amazing feat. 

We had the absolute pleasure of working with Danijela when we decided to completely remodel the interior of our home. It was a big project and we worried about all the decisions that would need to be made and all the people to be managed. She took all the stress away because she handled the entire process. With her design background, she was able to prepare drawings of things like cabinet designs and room configurations. She tirelessly reworked these plans until we were happy with the final concept and it met all of our requirements for functionality and form. She adroitly managed the tough balancing act of being completely professional yet still warm and approachable. She was always aware of our budget constraints and gave great advice about when to save and when to splurge. Many times I witnessed her willingness to go to bat for her clients to get the best prices and service. I never felt pressured to spend beyond my comfort and she always found creative ways to work within our budget. 

Danijela singlehandedly does the work of an entire crew of professionals. She has an amazing eye for color and scale, and she really listens to her clients rather than following her own agenda. It’s important to her that every space she designs reflects her clients’ personality and taste. She works extremely hard to make sure her clients are satisfied. We love our new interior. I completely trust her advice and highly recommend her."
